Odysseya (“Odysseya,” “we,” “us”) is a travel and history companion operated by
Xeragus Technologies LLC. This policy explains what information the app collects, how we use it,
and the choices you have. By using Odysseya you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
- Account information. If you create an account or sign in with Google or Apple,
we receive your name and email address. Passwords for email accounts are stored only as a salted
hash — never in plain text.
- Location. If you grant permission, we use your device’s precise location to show
historic sites and places near you (“What’s Near Me?”) and to set the starting point when planning a
day trip. Location is used to fulfill your request and is not used for advertising or sold. You can
turn it off any time in your device settings.
- Content you create. Likes, comments, saved trips, and free-text messages you send
to the day-trip planner (Premium).
- Usage & diagnostics. Standard server logs such as IP address, timestamps, and
error diagnostics, used to keep the service running and secure.
How we use your information
- Provide core features — the timeline, maps, keyword search, nearby discovery, saved trips, and
day-trip planning.
- Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- Parse free-text trip requests and build itineraries (Premium day-trip planner).
- Diagnose problems, prevent abuse, and improve the app.
How your information is shared
We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for third-party advertising. We share limited
data with service providers that help us operate Odysseya:
- OpenAI — processes free-text day-trip planner messages (Premium) so we can
interpret your constraints.
- Mapbox — renders maps and computes geocoding and driving routes.
- Google and Apple — only when you choose to sign in with them.
- Cloudflare — hosts and delivers images and media.
- Our cloud hosting provider — runs the servers that power the app.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of
our users and our service.
Data retention & deletion
We keep your account information and content while your account is active. You can request access to,
correction of, or deletion of your personal data — including full account deletion — by emailing
hello@odysseya.ai. We will delete your account and associated
content within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited records to comply with legal
obligations.
Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and passwords are stored as salted hashes. No
method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we use industry-standard safeguards.
Children
Odysseya is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not
knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
International users
Odysseya is operated from the United States and uses service providers in the United States and other
countries. By using the app you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in these
locations.
Your choices
- Turn location access on or off in your device settings.
- Browse the timeline, maps, and places without an account; an account is only needed to save trips,
like, or comment.
- Request access to or deletion of your data at any time (see above).
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new
“Last updated” date.
